Mark R. Bell, M.D., FACEP
President
Dr. Mark Bell, MD, is a graduate from the Chicago Medical School. He attended Westmont College in Santa Barbara and completed his residency in Emergency Medicine at UC Irvine. He is the President and founder of Benchmark Hospitalists and Intensivists, as well as the Principal and co-founder of AnesthesiaWorks, and a partner with Dr. Edwards at Emergent Medial Associates. Dr. Bell is an active and entrepreneurial physician, hospital advocate, and represents his colleagues in issues on a regional and national level.
Irv Edwards, M.D., FACEP
Principal
Dr. Irv Edwards earned his Bachelor’s from McGill University and his Medical Degree from the University of Calgary. He then interned at Los Angeles County Hospital and completed his Emergency Medicine residency at Harbor UCLA Medical Center. He pursued private practice in various hospitals across Los Angeles and Orange Counties, including Chino Valley Medical Center and Encino-Tarzana Regional Medical Center. Dr. Edwards was the Director of Performance Improvement at Mission Community Hospital from 1998–2003 and currently serves as Director of Case Management there, and he also directs Emergency Services at multiple hospitals, including Chino Valley and Encino-Tarzana Regional Medical Centers.
Muhammad Anwar, M.D.
Principal and Director of Critical Care
Dr. Anwar earned his medical degree from Dow Medical College in Karachi and completed his internal medicine residency and internship at Metropolitan Hospital in New York, where he was chief resident. He then pursued a fellowship in pulmonary and critical care medicine at New York Medical College. Currently, Dr. Anwar serves as Chief Medical Officer at Encino Medical Center and Sherman Oaks Hospital Medical Center, and is a member of the Pulmonary and Critical Care/Sleep Medicine Mid-Valley Pulmonary Medical Group. He is board certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary & Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine.
Scott Enderby DO, MMM, FACP
Chief Medical Officer
Dr. Scott F. Enderby earned his medical degree from the University of New England and completed his Internal Medicine residency at Kaiser San Francisco. With over 20 years of experience as a Hospitalist, he has extensive training in medical administration and leadership. He is a Senior Fellow in Hospital Medicine, a Fellow of the American College of Physicians, holds a Master’s in Medical Management from USC, and previously founded Bay Area Hospitalist Associates, where he developed a highly integrated care team that provided transitional care across the health care continuum. His professional passions are in establishing highly functional, integrated teams and empowering them with the tools to delivery the best care possible to the patients we are privileged to serve.

Ari L. Nagler
Chief Executive Officer
Ari Nagler has spent the last two decades building high-performing teams and efficient companies in healthcare, service, retail and hi-tech. He's a previous business owner and M&A executive having closed over 50 transactions for himself and his clients. He possesses a B.S. degree with emphasis in Management and Organizational Development, from Cornell University.
Eugene Veksler
Chief Financial Officer
A member of Benchmark Hospitalists management team since 2019, Eugene Veksler has oversight responsibilities for the finance function. Prior to joining Benchmark Hospitalists staff, Eugene held various financial positions within Eisner Health, StarPoint Properties, The Walt Disney Company, and The Clorox Company. He holds a BS degree in Business Administration from the University of Southern California. Eugene graduated from a Health Care Executive Program at UCLA in 2013 and is scheduled to graduate from a Business Analytics Program at Harvard University by 2020.
David Jin
Chief Operating Officer
Responsible for leading and managing all aspects of analytical reporting, project management and corporate initiatives.
Previous experience in multi-national public and private organizations, leading financial operations on several continents.
B.A. in Business Economics from UC Santa Barbara, M.B.A. in Finance from University of Colorado, Boulder.

Nancy Garcia
Chief Administrative Officer
Responsible for overseeing daily administrative operations and human resource management.
Previous experience in business management specializing in the entertainment and apparel industry.

Kristi Tucker
Chief Provider Relations Officer
Responsible for Recruiting, Credentialing and Scheduling.

Shweta Patel, Esq.
General Counsel
Responsible for managing and leading internal legal matters.
Prior experience within the medical/healthcare industry; medical malpractice defense; Assistant GC for a for-profit healthcare organization.
J.D. from Southwestern Law School / B.A. in International Studies with a focus on Business Management, University of California, Irvine.

Marinelle Camilon, DO, MMM
Director of Administrative Operations and Fellowship
Dr. Camilon joined Benchmark as its very first fellow in 2020 and became our Director of Administrative Fellowship in 2022. She attended medical school at Western University of Health Sciences and expanded her education earning a Masters in Medical Management from Carnegie Mellon University. She is the Co-Medical Director at USC Arcadia Hospital.
Andres Zuleta, MD, MMM
Director of IT Integrations
Dr. Zuleta joined Benchmark as a fellow in 2021.He attended medical school at Central University of the Caribbean / School of Medicine. His passion for global healthcare and family medicine has given him the tools to be comfortable with any patient in any setting. He is the Associate Medical Director and ARU Director at Palomar Health.
Richard Jin, MD, Ph.D.
Director of Business Development
Dr. Jin oversees all Benchmark programs and development projects. He is board certified in Internal Medicine and attended medical school at Boston University and completed his residency at University of California Irvine (UCI). He also has a Ph.D. in Molecular Medicine. He is the Medical Director at Temecula Valley Hospital.
Maritsa Scoulos-Hanson, DO, MMM
MIPS Physician Champion
Dr. Scoulos-Hanson leads and develops Benchmark MIPS initiatives. She attended medical school at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed her residency in Internal Medicine. She is the Associate Medical Director at Palomar Health.
Lianne Ho, MD, MMM
EHR Integration Physician Champion
Dr. Ho joined Benchmark as a fellow in 2023. She now champions our EHR integration programs. She attended medical school at Keck School of Medicine and expanded her education earning a Master of Business Administration at Marshall School of Business. She is currently the Associate Medical Director at California Hospital Medical Center.
Ako Walther, MD, MMM
Director of Physician Wellness
Dr. Walther joined Benchmark in 2019. Dr. Walther has practiced in various medical settings, including acute care hospitals, long-term acute care, and subacute rehabilitation facilities. She is the Director at Sonoma Valley Hospital and is the Director of Physician Wellness for Benchmark.
