Residency: Dignity Health Northridge Hospital - Chief Resident
Dr. Marinelle Camilon comes to us from Dignity Health Northridge Hospital where she was the Chief Resident this past year for the graduating Class of 2020. On why she joined the fellowship, Dr. Camilon says, "I saw a great opportunity to build on my leadership skills and pioneer as the first Benchmark fellow." She is excited about the professional growth and opportunities to meet great people–patients, colleagues and mentors–that are offered by the fellowship.
Dr. Camilon became a doctor because she was drawn to the commitment for lifelong learning and helping people. She says, "when I came to family medicine, it was a blend of all aspects of medicine I enjoyed plus a diverse patient population of all ages. I was enthusiastic to take care of the whole family and the range of medicine allowed a plethora of opportunities for future patient care and leadership."
Prior to medical school, Dr. Camilon worked as an In-Home Supportive Services provider and also did NASA sponsored research working on an anti-gravity exercise machine. Since moving to the Los Angeles area, she has ran the LA marathon the past 7 years and considers herself “LA loyal”. Dr. Camilon is looking forward to her continued service to the LA community in her new role as a hospital administrative fellow. Outside of work (in quarantine), Dr. Camilon enjoys finding new hobbies and catching up on reading, TV shows, and movies at home.
